Rainy Serenade: Taylor Swift Croons Through a Deluge at Eras Tour Kickoff in Lyon, France!

The opening night in Lyon, France for the Eras Tour was marked by a rain shower. Taylor Swift, amidst a packed audience at Groupama Stadium, mentioned the rain as she made her grand entrance on stage during the “Speak Now” era. (In French, “pluie” means rain.)

During Swift’s debut show in Eastern France, dark clouds hovered over the outdoor stadium, casting a shadow over the event for the initial hour. The band performed under canopies flanking the stage, while VIP and production areas were also housed in tents on the ground. A few concert-goers sported vibrant ponchos to shield themselves from the inclement weather.

A gentle drizzle at the start of “Enchanted” evolved into a heavy downpour during the “Reputation” era. Swift and her dancers joyfully danced in the rain, singing out the lyrics “Baby, let the games begin.” The majority of the watery spectacle took place while Swift was on stage in her striking red and black bodysuit.

In the joint performance of her albums “Folklore” and “Evermore,” Swift took a seat at the piano covered in moss and gave a shoutout to Mother Nature’s presence. “Well, we got ourselves a rain show tonight, and that’s a fact,” she mentioned before diving into her song “Champagne Problems.” “This moment is now set in stone, rain or shine.”

“Hello Lyon, wishing you a Happy Pride Month!” said Taylor Swift during her performance of “You Need to Calm Down,” a beloved LGBTQ anthem among her fans. As the stadium glowed with rainbow colors from wristwatches and the audience waved their hands in celebration, the singer spread a message of love and acceptance. With one more show left in Lyon before moving on to Edinburgh, Scotland for a series of shows, Swift continues to embrace and support the LGBTQ community through her music and actions.
